A new video game from the Warner Bros. stables brings together the most famous characters of the star system. With the voice of an arrival from LeBron James …
Warner Bros. announced MultiVersus, the fighting video game that pits characters from its most iconic brands, such as Batman, and other celebrities such as Arya Stark from Game of Thrones. The game, in technical jargon a “brawler” inspired by Super Smash Bros., had been at the center of rumor and speculation in recent weeks. Now, however, confirmation has arrived for the title whose release is scheduled for 2022 on many of the most popular platforms.
MultiVersus free for all –
MultiVersus was unveiled today by Warner Bros. and will be available from next year, complete with cross-platform gaming support, for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S. The title will be playable for free, with the free-to-play formula, and will include 1v1, 2v2 and free-for-all matches for a maximum of 4 users per session. The game will be available both locally and online (complete with dedicated servers), the latter mode in which there will also be the possibility to compete in ranked matches and access a wide range of customizations.
The famous characters of the game –
The character roster includes “a variety of fighters and personalities to team up with or compete with, with an all-star cast of talent lending their voices to the game,” including:
- Batman – voice of Kevin Conroy
- Superman – voice of George Newbern
- Wonder Woman – voice of Abby Trott
- Harley Quinn – voice of Tara Strong
- Shaggy (Scooby Doo) – voice of Matthew Lillard
- Bugs Bunny – voice of Eric Bauza
- Arya Stark (Game of Thrones) – voice of Maisie Williams
- Jake the Dog (Adventure Time) – voice of John DiMaggio
- Finn the Human (Adventure Time) – voice of Jeremy Shada
- Steven Universe (Steven Universe) – voice of Daniel DiVenere
- Garnet (Steven Universe) – voice of Estelle
- Tom and Jerry – voice of Eric Bauza
- Reindog (an original creature) – voice of Andrew Frankel
New characters “will be added continuously to MultiVersus. The game will also have seasons full of content “that will be launched gradually and it is possible in this sense that among the news there is also LeBron James, as chatted a few weeks ago. Other surprise excluded characters for the moment include Gandalf de The Lord of the Rings, which was taken for granted and was presumably reserved for the next few seasons. Contrary to what was rumored in the phases preceding the presentation, the project will be led by the Los Angeles software house First Play Games and not by NetherRealm Studios, the home of Mortal Kombat.
