W Seriesin managing director Catherine Bond Muir has followed her sister very closely Jane Bowley the fight against breast cancer.

Bowley contracted breast cancer for the first time at the age of 38.

Bowley’s children were 3, 5, and 8 years old at the time. One of the children was also seriously ill and had undergone numerous brain surgeries the previous year.

The time was very stressful for Bowley and the chemotherapy made him unwell. Fortunately, the sister was often involved when she underwent treatments.

“My worst fear was, will I have to leave my children, will I see them grow up?” Bowley tells the W Series website.

The sister was horrified to hear about the diagnosis. Muir had not known anyone who had cancer at such a young age.

“When you receive news like that, you can’t help but think the worst. I realized that nothing is known about cancer until it hits close. It was a scary time because we are very close, ”Muir says.

Next once Bowley found a lump in his chest at age 55, three years ago. Thoughts of death returned, but in a different way after Bowley had already experienced breast cancer.

“Part of me thought I had a lot of time since the last time, so if this is my part, then this is my part,” Bowley thought then.

Working at the W Series helped me forget about my illness. Bowley helped his sister with accounting and budgets while attending chemotherapy.

“I wanted to focus on something positive and it did good. Catherine was so excited and it took me out of my situation, ”Bowley says.

Sister the fight against cancer also gave Muir the strength to work on a series of women’s formulas.

“Right from the start of setting up the W Series, it seemed so unlikely that it would become real, but my sister’s illness made me work,” she says.

“When you are close to someone who is fighting for your life, you are more ambitious about what you want to achieve, because then you know how precious life is.”

The W Series has campaigned for breast cancer awareness on social media.
