Motorsport | Formula promise Tuukka Taponen drove second – not even a time penalty prevented his rival’s victory

The competition was won by the Brazilian Rafael Camara.

Tuukka Taponen drove second in the Imola race of the Formula Regional series on Saturday. Taponen missed the winner of the race From Rafael Camara just over three seconds in the final stages.

Camara won by a fairer margin, but he took a false start. As a result, a five-second penalty was added to his time. However, that didn’t stop Camara from winning the first race at Imola.

Camara leads the series by 52 points ahead of second-place Tapo. Another race will be held in Imola on Sunday.

Taponen won the series last time in Mugello in July.
