The Czech President Petr Pavel was injured while riding a motorbike. The announcement was made from the presidential palace. “The injuries are not serious, but will require a short stay under observation” at the Central Military Hospital in Prague, the office said on X. It is not yet clear under what circumstances the accident occurred.
The hospital confirmed on X that the president was hospitalized: “He was treated and hospitalized under preventive observation.” In April, Pavel was injured in the face at a shooting range in Uhersky Brod during a visit to the Zlin region, in the south-east of the Czech Republic. On that occasion he was injured by exploding a gunshot and suffered a small laceration near the eyebrows, but the wound did not require medical attention.
