Dorna, MotoGP and now also the FIM: there is a member of the Ezpeleta family in top positions – or in any case of responsibility – in all three vital centers of two-wheeled motorsport. Tomé Alfonso Ezpeleta, grandson of CEO Dorna Carmelo, will in fact be the new FIM Safety Officer: he will replace Franco Uncini, who will announce his resignation in Valencia.
Tomé Alfonso, 49, is the uncle of Carlos, MotoGP sporting director. His career began at a very young age as track commissioner of the Jarama circuit, and then he managed the Lusail circuit, of Aragón and, until recently, of Sokol, the Kazakh circuit that will become part of the calendar starting from 2023.
