In MotoGP there is an air of great changes and the first big news is represented by the entry of Liberty Media, which will manage the championship giving it a new vitality. But it is not only the American giant that is creating new mechanisms in the top category of two wheels, Dorna is also renewing itself and it is doing so also through figures that are joining the top.
In fact, the arrival of a new marketing manager for MotoGP has been announced: it is Kelly Brittain, coming from Red Bull Technology who, starting in 2025, will work alongside Dan Rossomondo. “After starting her career in brand marketing in companies such as Mitchells & Butlers and Samsung, she moved to Telefonica (O2) UK and was then appointed vice president of global brand & campaigns at DAZN. In 2021, she moved to Red Bull Technology as director of brand & communications. She has achieved incredible results, guiding and monetizing fan growth,” reads the note released by MotoGP.
Kelly Brittain, new Global Marketing General Manager, expresses her excitement for this new adventure: “MotoGP is deservedly one of the most prestigious brands in the sport and I am thrilled to be working with the team to elevate the sport and expand the global fan base. It all starts with the fans: understanding why they engage and what the sport offers them. Our aim is to amplify this on a global scale to unlock growth for the brand, including through MotoGP’s presence in the different media, cultural spaces and demographics that the sport has yet to reach.”
“There is already a fantastic foundation in place around fan engagement, CRM, social media and strong working relationships with teams and promoters. Our mission is to build on this foundation and break down barriers to engagement and growth. The sport’s ecosystem has grown exponentially, with so many access points for both new and established fans, whether that be through content, proliferation of social channels, merchandise and brand partnerships. Working to maximise this for MotoGP is a truly exciting prospect and it’s a privilege to join this exceptional team to lead the next chapter of growth and success,” Brittain continued.
Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO Dorna, welcomes the new MotoGP Marketing Director: “We are delighted to welcome Kelly to MotoGP. Marketing and promotion is our number one focus area as we build this new era for the sport, putting current and future fans at the heart of everything we do, and we know that creating this new role and hiring a talent like Kelly will be a huge asset. MotoGP is a global property with a fan base of 500 million, but we want more. The diversity of our audience will only be rewarded if we build our team to reflect different experiences, backgrounds and skillsets in our mission to expand this incredible sport. Kelly is a great asset to us, with a proven track record, and brings a lot to the table. Having gotten to know her throughout this process, we know that she will not only bring professional excellence and experience, but also be a fantastic person to work with as we aim to make MotoGP a household name everywhere.”
