Pramac Racing announced on Thursday that it will retain its title sponsor, Prima, for the next three years, until the 2027 MotoGP season. The Italian team confirmed this on Thursday at an event at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, where the sixth round of the season will take place this weekend, and after the first press conferences of the drivers took place.
The Italian team will thus continue its collaboration with Prima, the leading company in the Italian insurance market, in a partnership that began in 2022 and which could be more important than it seems at the moment. Paolo Campinoti’s team has not yet confirmed whether it will continue to be linked to Ducati, as it has done since 2005, or whether it will change and move to a brand like Yamaha, which is still looking for a satellite team for 2025.
In this way, Prima strengthens its trust in Pramac and will continue to follow it also in the first year of the new technical regulations of the premier class, 2027, which will bring, among other things, 850 cc engines and more limited aerodynamics. Therefore, everything seems to indicate that the decision between the Desmosedici GP and the M1 is increasingly closer.
As a result, it was also confirmed that both drivers will “wear” a special decoration in Montmeló, very different from the usual purple livery. It was created by artist Miguel Caravaca, has a white background and is basically an “art gallery” concept.
“I am pleased to announce the extension of our partnership with Prima until 2027. In these three years together we have achieved important goals, the most emblematic of which was the victory of the MotoGP Team World Championship in 2023, a result never achieved first from an independent team like ours. The 2024 season has started very well, the results on the track are encouraging and I hope to continue to reap satisfactions in the next three years that we will face together represented the values and protagonists of our team, allowing us to inaugurate this new chapter together with Prima in an original and creative way”, declared Paolo Campinoti.
“We are experiencing a special sporting moment and knowing that we can count on a partner like Prima for another three years is certainly important. Our team is our family. We spend many days a year together, we share the passion for what we do, the joy for successes and disappointment for defeats. That’s why I’m happy to see our world represented through the eyes of a great artist and motorcycling enthusiast like Caravaca. I am pleased to celebrate this renewal in a way that underlines the values that Prima and Pramac Racing have in common. Together they have created a synergy that unites motorcycling and art represented in a single space: the Prima garage Pramac Racing of the Catalunya Grand Prix”, continued Gino Borsoi.
In recent years Prima and Pramac have achieved considerable success. Last year, this union saw Jorge Martin fight for the premier class title, taking the battle against Pecco Bagnaia to Valencia, the final round of the year.
Although they failed to capture the crown, the team managed to achieve a historic milestone, becoming the first independent team to dominate the team standings in history.
This year, the rider from San Sebastián de los Reyes is even stronger and has taken the lead in the Riders’ World Championship after five Grands Prix, bringing the Pramac colors to the top step of the podium on five occasions, that is, half of the 10 races held, including the sprints and the main races on Sunday.
