Jack Miller And Francesco Bagnaia they will start respectively from the second and third rows in the Qatar Grand Prix scheduled for tomorrow at the Lusail International Circuit, near Doha.
Thanks to the ninth time obtained at the end of the first three free practice sessions, Jack had direct access to Q2, during which he immediately took the lead in the first minutes of the session. On his second exit from the pits with the soft tire, the Australian driver was able to improve further, but the time obtained was not enough to secure him the pole position, making him slide to fourth place, 287 thousandths from the top. Pecco also had direct access to Q2 thanks to the eighth time obtained at the end of PL3, but in qualifying the Italian driver was unable to drop below the time of 1.53.411, obtaining the ninth time at 113 thousandths from his teammate.
In the inaugural Grand Prix of the 2022 MotoGP season scheduled for tomorrow, at 18:00 local time, there will be two Desmosedici GPs starting from the front row. Jorge Martín (Pramac Racing Team) was in fact the author of the pole position thanks to a fastest lap of 1: 53.011, ahead of his teammate Enea Bastianini (Gresini Racing), second.
Jack Miller: “Our goal today was to improve my sensations on the bike and we succeeded. I feel much more comfortable and I think I am in a good position for tomorrow’s race. I have done many laps in both FP3 and FP4 and my pace is good. This year the level of MotoGP is very high and anyone can aspire to the podium tomorrow. It will be a challenging race, but I am confident in my potential and ready to face it“.
Francesco Bagnaia: “Unfortunately, qualifying did not go as I would have liked. Both in the tests and during the last few days we worked with always different bike configurations and this penalized me a bit. In FP4 we managed to find a set-up that I like, but I didn’t have enough time to get used to it before qualifying. We will start from the third row, but on this track I don’t think it’s not a big problem. We will see how the race goes tomorrow, but I am optimistic“.
