Despite second place behind Pecco Bagnaia, Jorge Martin rises to 155 points in the general classification of the MotoGP World Championship, with the Italian second again (116 points) and Marc Marquez third (114), with the “golden trio ” Ducati distancing itself from the rest of the group.
Martin started quite far back, from the third row, but managed to make an excellent start, unlike the previous day, in Sprint, which placed him fourth at the first corner and third before the end of the first lap, behind Bagnaia and Pedro Acosta.
After overtaking the reigning world champion and then the GasGas rider, who subsequently crashed, Martin led many laps, with more than a second ahead, but little by little Pecco got back under him, and a few laps from the in the end he found the overtaking that earned him the victory right at turn 5, where he crashed yesterday.
Despite everything, second place was a good result for Martin and he managed to secure it without crashing on a very delicate track where the easiest thing to do was make a mistake.
“I’m very happy and very proud, it was a very tough race, I took the first corner perfectly, going up from seventh to fourth. I tried to manage the tyre, but in the end I was in difficulty and Pecco had some more. It was a complicated race, let’s wait to see the next one”, explained “Martinator”.
“I had a good pace, with Pedro I used a lot of tyres, so when Pecco arrived I didn’t have any more, but I held on well. After yesterday’s result it was a good race and a positive result.”

The Spaniard was happy, but not that much, at the end of the day, especially with the level of competitiveness.
“It was a bit of a strange weekend, because we weren’t able to be as competitive as we would have liked, but I’m happy with the leap we made from yesterday to today. Yesterday our real position was seventh, today second.”
“Probably the fight with Pedro made me use the tires more than I should have and when Pecco caught me I no longer had any. I tried to follow him and there I lost all my chances. Maybe if I had saved those bullets for the last two laps , the result would have been different, but it’s information that I will carry with me for the future. I get good points for the championship on a day where I didn’t expect to get on the podium, it’s gold.”
And he agreed that being conservative and safe today was the best thing to do. “Every year, with age, you gain more experience. Last year I was very fit, this year a little more. Nutrition, training and knowing how to use your body to ride in a more efficient”.
As always, the Spaniard’s post-match interview also talked about his future. “I don’t know my future. At the moment I think we are on the right path. I want to race in Red, but I’m calm because wherever I go I will have an official bike”, clarified the Prima Pramac Racing rider.
