MotoGP Catalonia, the news of the FP1
Jorge Martin he immediately makes his intentions for this weekend clear: at Montmeló the Spaniard sets the best time of FP1 – 1:39.579 – and beats the highly acclaimed Marc Marquez, who is naturally at home in Catalonia, by two tenths. The Prima Pramac Racing rider is the only one to test the time with the new double soft, while the #93 achieves it with a combination of soft on the front and medium on the rear.
Marquez he is the only one of the top-5 riders not to run on the new tyre, while Brad Binder, Pedro Acosta and Aleix Espargaró use it on the front to set the third, fourth and fifth fastest times of the day respectively.
Francesco starts with a 7th place Bagnaia – he also doesn’t look for time -, Augusto Fernandez, Jack Miller and Raul Fernandez are also in the top-10. Maverick Viñales is 11th, we can see some timid signs of revival from Honda (Johann Zarco 13th, Luca Marini 17th) even if the road is naturally very long. The weekend began badly for Enea Bastianini, Franco Morbidelli and Marco Bezzecchi, 19th, 21st and 22nd respectively.
