The very high speeds that the MotoGP prototypes reach at Mugello are combined with the equally spectacular braking, in which the brakes play a fundamental role. At the Italian Grand Prix, these will be protagonists: Brembo has in fact announced that it is the title sponsor of the Tuscan race over the weekend from 31 May to 2 June and will also extend its sponsorship for the 2025 edition.
Thus, the Mugello weekend will be officially defined as the Brembo Italian Grand Prix. Sole supplier of systems throughout the premier class of the world championship, Brembo now represents a pillar in this sport and this year it has expanded its role, becoming Braking Inspiration Official Partner of MotoGP.
In this new role, which runs in parallel with the commitment to supply brakes to all the teams in the premier class, Brembo provides (and will do so until 2027) the data that appears in the television graphics, which show the stopping force of the prototypes , now increasingly technologically advanced, both from an electronic and aerodynamic point of view.
However, the Brembo Italian Grand Prix will not be the first sponsored by the brake supplier. In fact, already in 2012 he was the protagonist of the Portuguese Grand Prix. After the Algarve, it is the turn of the home race for the company, which is based in Curno, in the province of Bergamo. The sponsorship will also extend into 2025, which will represent an important year for Brembo, coinciding in fact with its 50th anniversary.
Daniele Schillaci, CEO of Brembo, expresses his satisfaction: “We are thrilled to announce that Brembo will be the title sponsor of the Italian Grand Prix in 2024 and 2025. It will race at Mugello, a circuit that has been an integral part of the calendar since 1976 , capable of evoking the history and charm of motorcycling on a global scale.”
“Our long tradition in motorsport and this collaboration with MotoGP mark our ongoing commitment to innovation and performance. Our braking systems have in fact been chosen by all the teams for nine consecutive world championships, consolidating Brembo’s image as the undisputed leader and point of reference for drivers and professionals”, continues Schillaci.
“MotoGP represents the pinnacle of motorsport and today presents itself as a dynamic platform to involve an increasingly young and passionate audience. Values such as excellence, passion and determination, shared by Brembo, are the engine of our growth and success. In this championship they find their maximum expression. We look to the future with enthusiasm, ready to write the next chapter of this exciting story together, with the aim of inspiring and involving the new generations, sharing the unique emotions that only motorsport can offer”, concludes the Brembo CEO.
This is echoed by Dan Rossomondo, commercial director of Dorna Sports: “We are very happy to welcome Brembo as title sponsor of the Italian Grand Prix. It is already an established presence in our sport, as a supplier to the premier class. That the relationship continues to evolve is great news for MotoGP™. From being a supplier, Brembo has become a partner and now also the title sponsor of one of our most coveted events. We can’t wait to return to Mugello for the Brembo Italian Grand Prix.”
