The home race always has a special flavor and this year it will be even more so for the Ducati team, which will aim for a hat-trick at the Italian Grand Prix after the successes of the last two editions. At Mugello, Pecco Bagnaia holds the track record, shattered last year after taking pole. Furthermore, he triumphed in 2022 and 2023 (also winning the Sprint), therefore, if it is true that there is no two without three, the objective is only one: to win again.
This race will also be important from a championship perspective, since the title holder presents himself as a direct pursuer in the general: he is second behind Jorge Martin, from whom he is 39 points behind and will want to reduce the gap: “Racing at Mugello is always an indescribable emotion and being able to count on the warmth of all the Italian fans and Ducatisti present on the track makes this event even more incredible. The two victories obtained here in the last two years were one more beautiful than the other and I dream of being able to do it again this year”.

This year, the official pair presents itself at Mugello with a special livery to celebrate the Nationals and, also in blue, will aim to honor its champions with the best possible result. “Our Sunday at the Italian GP will be even more special, given that we will wear the same colors as the national team! I’m excited and can’t wait to get on track!”, says Bagnaia.
This is echoed by Enea Bastianini, who shows up at his home race with the determination to redeem himself after the complicated weekend in Barcelona. The official Ducati rider was unable to realize his full potential in these first races of the season and, in front of his fans, he will aim to make a turning point in his 2024.

Right in Mugello, Beast he returned last year after being out of action due to a shoulder injury in the first game which kept him out of action for some time. Now, back in top form, he aims to show he can compete with the top riders. Although the Ducati lineups for 2025 will not be decided at Mugello, the Italian Grand Prix will be a crucial turning point for Bastianini.
“Getting back on track immediately after Barcelona is what is needed to finally be able to put last Sunday behind me and try to redeem myself. Running in front of the home crowd wearing Azzurro energizes me and motivates me a lot. Let’s hope the weather is on our side! I will do my best to be able to fight for a good result and give a great show to all my fans and the Ducatisti who will be at Mugello this weekend”, says Enea.
