MotoGP Austin, the news of the tests
In the tests for the Austin Grand Prix, Jorge Martin and Maverick Viñales they clearly seem to be the fittest riders. After an FP1 conquered by the Aprilia rider, the Ducati rider redeems himself by destroying the COTA record (2:01.397). The only one who can keep up with him is #12, just 76 thousandths away. Third place for Marc Marquez 409 thousandths behind Martin. The Spaniard precedes Francesco by only two thousandths Bagnaia.
Pedro Acosta also qualified directly for Q2, the only one to save the otherwise disastrous KTMs, and Aleix Espargaró. The giant progress of Franco Morbidelli, seventh and also in Q2, was confirmed, as were Enea Bastianini and the two VR46 standard-bearers Fabio Di Giannantonio and Marco Bezzecchi, who were also in great difficulty at this start of the season.
Brad Binder will have to sweat out the fight for pole through Q1, while the disaster of the Japanese continues: Yamaha and Honda sadly occupy the last six places in the time table. Luca Marini, who had been the best of the Hondas in FP1, also suffered the consequences.
