MotoGP Austin, the FP1 news
Mavericks Viñales leads the first free practice session on the Austin circuit. At COTA the Aprilia rider is consistently fast and leads the rest of the field with a time of 2:03.294 obtained on the last attempt with new tyre. The Spaniard precedes Jorge Martin by 149 thousandths, Pedro Acosta still doing well, third at +0.312.
Francis Bagnaia he closed the session with the 11th fastest time but did not set the time with the new tires unlike all those preceding him, apart from Enea Bastianini (excellent fourth) and Marc Marquez (eighth). However, the three recorded promising times on the race pace and will most likely emerge in tonight's PRs.
Encouraging signs from all the Italians: Marco Bezzecchi (fifth) and Franco Morbidelli (seventh) can be seen in the upper areas, while Luca Marini is improving, 14th and the best on Honda. In the shade Aleix Espargarò (Aprilia), 19th.

The program
MotoGP returns to the track this evening at 10pm, when the riders will take to the track for PRs and will compete for the top ten places in Q2. Tomorrow the activity on the track begins at 5.10pm with FP2, followed by Q1 and Q2, while the first points will be awarded with the Sprint at 10pm. On Sunday the American Grand Prix will start at 9pm.
