Repsol-Honda, end of marriage
One of the longest-lasting marriages in motorsports comes to an end. Repsolin fact, will not renew the current sponsorship contract with Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) in 2025: the official announcement just a few minutes ago.
This is a divorce that is the result of a crisis that we had already anticipated at the beginning of the year. It all started with Honda’s results crisis, but the triggering event was Marc’s departure. Marquez towards Ducati Gresini. The Repsol-HRC marriage lasted 30 seasons. The first Honda with the sponsor of the Spanish company dates back to 1995: it was immediately a triumphant marriage, with five 500 titles in the first five seasons, signed by Mick Doohan and Alex Crivillé. Over the years, ten more MotoGP titles arrived: six with Marc Marquez, two with Valentino Rossi, one with Nicky Hayden and another with Casey Stoner.
