Pedro Acosta is still slightly bruised from the crashes in Jerez, but he is ready to attack Le Mans and the French Grand Prix, a track on which, in the past, he has always been very strong despite achieving fewer results than expected. would have deserved.
The GasGas team rider explained that he feels better 2 weeks after the weekend in which he suffered a couple of painful crashes in Jerez de la Frontera. In addition to his mother’s care, he was able to train with his friend Remy Gardner, a quasi-coach who helps him keep fit.
“The following Tuesday I was already better. Little by little I was recovering. My mother put some cream on me and I was ready for action”, the GasGas talent declared laughing.
“We did a lot of hours on the bike this week, twelve hours in 3 days. We did everything. You don’t have to be the best in one aspect, but good in everything. We did enduro, trials, big bike, flat track, I’m happy and prepared because we did everything with Remy Gardner (his friend and person who follows him in training, ed.)”.
“I don’t think Remy can be defined as a coach. But I enjoy training with him. He is in a form that I haven’t seen for a long time. The level has risen a lot and he knows well what MotoGP and high competition mean.”
“Le Mans is a circuit that has served me well since the first time I raced there in Moto3. I’ve always been fast, I’ve always made mistakes, because I’ve crashed often, but I’ve always been competitive and I even got my first pole position It’s a track that suits my riding style well, tight in the corners and with quick changes of direction.”

Speaking of the rider market for next season, Jorge Martin’s goal is to finally become a rider for the official Ducati team, a position currently occupied by Enea Bastianini and also contested by Marc Marquez.
“How many candidates are there? But I think Martin deserves to go,” said Acosta, when pressed for his opinion on this matter. “Last year he came second in the World Championship. He didn’t win because God didn’t want it. This year he’s leading the championship even though he crashed in Jerez, a race that I think he would have won if he hadn’t crashed. In this moment is the strongest in the championship.”
Remaining on the topic of the transfer market, Acosta reiterated that moving from one team to another as Max Verstappen did in F1 (moving from the then Toro Rosso to Red Bull Racing, ed.) is a stupid thing.
“Changing the team in the middle of the year is stupid. KTM won’t do it, I don’t need it and it’s not necessary. We have to understand that I have people working for Pierer Mobility and Tech3, and you can’t move the whole team without any forethought.”
“It’s not realistic at the moment. Let’s see what will happen. For now I’m happy where I am and I don’t intend to move anywhere. So we can rest assured from this point of view”, concluded the Iberian talent.
