The Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli was the scene of the last MotoE event, which after an intense and hard-fought season awarded the world title. The winner was Hector Garzo, who only needed a third place in Race 1 to take the sceptre from Mattia Casadei. The Dynavolt Intact GP team rider settled for two third places to close the games and win his first world title in the all-electric category.
Casadei tried to defend himself until the end, winning Race 1 ahead of Zaccone. An Italian double at home, with the two tricolor riders separated by a tenth and a half at the finish line. Closing the podium was Garzo, who with the placement alone won the title with one race to spare with respect to the end of the championship.
Victory narrowly escaped in Race 2, where Casadei remained in second place by just 109 thousandths. The Spanish anthem played on Saturday afternoon in MotoE, because Oscar Gutierrez triumphed, trying to stay in the fight for the world championship. Closing out the podium was once again Hector Garzo, now calm after having won the title.
Thus, Garzo ends the season with a total of 246 points, while Casadei is vice-champion with 15 points of detachment. Third in the championship is Oscar Gutierrez, who however is further behind in the standings. Immediately behind the other Italians: Kevin Zannoni closes 2024 in fourth position ahead of Alessandro Zaccone, while in the top 10 we still find Nicolas Spinelli, seventh, and Matteo Ferrari and Andrea Mantovani, eighth and ninth respectively. Massimo Roccoli is thirteenth ahead of Alessio Finello, fourteenth. Kevin Manfredi is fifteenth, while Armando Pontone closes in eighteenth position.
