The Head of the Scottsdale Fire Department has confirmed that the accident, from which he received a first notice at 16.39 hours (local time), has affected a total of five people, of which for the moment only one has died. Meanwhile, three people are receiving medical treatment and another continues trapped in one of the wrecked vehicles.
«Two people were immediately taken to a traumatology center, one is in a stable condition in a local hospital. We are still working to extract a person from one of the planes, ”he said during a press conference.
The Federal Aviation Administration of the United States (FAA), for its part, has opened an investigation to clarify the causes of the collision, which has involved two private aircraft, a ‘Learjet 35a’ and a ‘Gulfstream 200’.
As reported by several American media, the Learjet 35a was owned by the singer of Mötley CrueVince Neil. The group, whose battery is Tommy Lee, has issued a statement regretting the accident.
In a statement, the agency has reported that the first one “left the track after landing and crashed” against the other. Air traffic at Scottsdale airport has stopped temporarily.
