Utah (USA) – “Are we there yet?” or “When will we finally be there?”: Those who have children know these sayings only too well when you drive a long way by car with the whole family. After all, long car journeys in the tightest of spaces are a real challenge for even the most harmonious family situation. Especially if the little ones cannot move for a long time, because then they quickly become restless or want to be entertained by their parents.
A mother of a one-year-old daughter knows the problem and also has great trouble keeping the little whirlwind busy. But she came up with an ingenious and simple idea, which she shares with the world, reports 24auto.de.
Mother shows “brilliant” life hack for long car journeys – but Netz attacks her
In a Tiktok video shows Whitney Leavitt distracting her little one on the way to Bryce Canyon National Park. She takes a standard fresh-keeping bag and puts in it a tablet that is currently playing a children’s program. Then she drills two holes left and right just below the opening in the bag. These are spaced just far enough apart to fit into the bracket on the front seat headrest. (It takes years for mother to figure out what the holes in a child seat are for – did you know?)
The pouch containing the tablet only dangles from the back of the seat, so the device is exactly at the child’s eye level. Many on TikTok are completely enthusiastic about this clever auto life hack, while others see the whole thing with mixed feelings. This woman is also celebrated on TikTok because she banishes bad smells from the car with a simple and cheap life hack.

When you imagine the amount of time my child spends turning it off while holding the tablet.” (Man discovers gas cap holder – after “38 years on earth”: Many others feel the same way)
But other users see the whole thing more critically, but not only because Leavitt lets her toddler watch TV the whole trip. They also find it irresponsible of the young mother that the one-year-old in the child seat facing forward. Finally, it is recommended for babies and toddlers to ride rear-facing so that they better protected and secured in the event of an accident are.
