The federal representative Sue Ellen Bernal Bolnik has denounced that the austerity policy implemented by the Morena government culminates the six-year term with negative results, highlighting the recent blackouts in various cities in the country.
Bernal Bolnik attributes these power outages to the lack of investment of 5 billion pesos in the maintenance of electrical infrastructure last year.
Within the framework of the discussion of the Political Agenda: Electoral Process, the PRI legislator criticized that the Morena administration has not resolved fundamental problems in areas such as security, health care and water supply.
He noted that the blackouts are a direct result of the austerity policy, which has led to the paralysis of permits for wind, solar and hydroelectric energy projects, which limits the capacity of the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) to satisfy the country’s energy demand.
Bernal Bolnik He highlighted that the lack of investment in the electrical distribution network and infrastructure has caused serious economic losses in the industry. Representative Cristina Ruiz Sandoval agreed, highlighting that this situation reflects poor development planning, affecting productivity and investment.
Besides, criticized that the austerity policy in the security sector has contributed to a rising wave of violence. Regarding water management, he mentioned that the lack of maintenance of the hydraulic network has caused a crisis of outages in Mexico City and the State of Mexico.
Also highlighted the debt of more than 12 billion of pesos left by the defunct Institute of Health for Wellbeing (INSABI), which has left millions without access to health services.
Cristina Ruiz Sandoval He also criticized the economic management of Morena, stating that the administration’s defense of the energy crisis insults the population. He pointed out that while the government celebrates remittances, the reality is that life in Mexico has become more expensive and there are fewer opportunities. He also warned of worrying financial deficits and a national debt that has reached 248%.
Bernal Bolnik’s conclusion is clear: the Morena government’s austerity policy has not addressed the country’s structural problems and has generated a series of negative consequences, from blackouts to problems in health care and security.
