At least 821 people have been arrested in 34 cities due to the protests that have broken out in Russia this Saturday after the military mobilization decreed by Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to the balance provided this Sunday by the civil rights organization OVD-Info.
The detainees are divided between Moscow, with almost 400, as well as in the city of Saint Petersburg, with 142 detainees, followed by Novosibirsk (71), Irkutsk (20), Tomsk (19), Izhevsk (17), Ufa (16) and other locations.
The protests began after Putin ordered a partial mobilization to reinforce the Armed Forces after the recent setbacks in the war in Ukraine. On the first day of protests, more than 1,300 people were arrested, according to OVD-Info.
