Embracer Group is continuing its layoff policy. Today The affected studio is Lost Boys Interactivea support software house that has worked on several AAA titles, including Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands and Diablo 4.
The announcement came on LinkedIn, where the firm announced a dramatic reduction in its overall headcount. In the post, the firm said it was “directly impacted by our clients’ projects and priorities.” He’s apparently gotten less work in recent months.a suspicion that becomes certainty when it is said that the “changing market” has forced a reevaluation of current operations.
Other layoffs
“We recognize the impact this decision has on our team members, who have contributed so much to our success,” said Shaun Nivens, CEO of Lost Boys Interactive. “Decisions involving staff reductions are never taken lightly, and this action was taken only after considering all other options available. We are committed to supporting them in any way we can during this transition.”
This isn’t the first round of layoffs at Lost Boys Interactive. It lost 125 of its 400 employees earlier this year. The number of those laid off in recent days has not been disclosed. In total, however, the industry as a whole is expected to have lost more than 12,000 jobs since the start of the year.
For those who don’t know, a support studio is called that because it is hired to help develop the biggest video games, providing support to the main team, often on specific aspects of production. Most of the latest AAA games were also made thanks to the various support studios scattered around the world.
