Munich 2 came back to be seen on the occasion of the recent GDC 2024, and appeared decidedly evolved, as well as clearly different from its predecessor, which was released on the market more than 10 years ago: so let's see some new details emerged on this interesting sequel, which however continues in the particular structure from stealth action based on thieves.
The game is built on a proprietary enginealso capable of giving a very particular style on the aesthetic front, very colorful and detailed but still following a peculiar general characterization.
The first Monaco: What's Yours Is Mine, as you may remember, focused heavily on absolute minimalism, while this sequel appears decidedly more refined on the aesthetic front, very rich in details and colors compared to the almost monochrome of the original.
A new stealth action on thefts
Monaco 2 can be played in online and offline multiplayer but is also particularly enjoyable in single playerwith the ability to switch from one thief to another in action within the same map, at any time.
This gives you access to different skills specific for each character and different equipment at any time, using various characters alternately. Also in this case it is essentially about planning and carrying out robberies, but with greater complexity than its predecessor.
The maps they appear more intricate and also have a certain verticality, which forces us to think about different solutions and plan in more depth how to penetrate the areas, using various scenario elements.
The environments are also procedurally generated, so each game will present different experiences, with various objectives to complete but also collectibles and other elements that enrich the exploration of the maps.
At the moment there is no information on the release date, which in any case may not be far away, also because the Pocketwatch Games team has obtained the support of Humble Games for publishing, so further news should emerge in the next period.
