His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, issued Resolution No. (16) of 2023 AD regarding the formation of the collective wedding committee in the emirate for the year 2024 AD, headed by Mr. Obaid Rashid Al Yamahi, and the membership of each of Mr. Arhama Rashid Al-Zeyoudi, Mrs. Maryam Muhammad Al-Kaabi, and Ms. Kholoud Al-Laili, Ms. Awatif Khalfan Al-Sharif, and Ms. Hessa Hassan Al-Mismari.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, also issued Resolution No. (17) for the year 2023 AD regarding the issuance of a system for holding collective weddings in the Emirate of Fujairah, which provides for defining the name and definitions related to the system and identifying the target groups from it.
The decision clarified the goals of the system and its connection with national trends, as it aims to enable applicants to build cohesive families and encourage them to have family stability, and urge them to participate in mass weddings to reduce the costs of marriage, in addition to completing the role of the competent federal authorities and supporting their national directions related to reducing the burdens of marriage.
The decision also defines the functions of the collective wedding committee in the emirate in organizing, managing and following up the holding of collective weddings, setting conditions for applying to benefit from collective weddings, and examining and evaluating issues related to applicants’ applications in accordance with the specified conditions and criteria.
The decision also stipulated that the committee be assigned the task of financial management and the general budget to support collective weddings, and to achieve performance indicators for the collective wedding project in line with national indicators.
These two decisions shall be effective from the date of their issuance and shall be published in the Official Gazette.
