His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, discussed with Karl Nehammer, Chancellor of the friendly Republic of Austria, various aspects of bilateral relations and their future prospects in light of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
This came during the reception of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, today at Al Shatea Palace, with Carl Nehamer, who is on a working visit to the UAE.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Highness welcomed the Austrian chancellor and renewed his congratulations on his assumption of the chancellorship, wishing him success in serving his country and people. He also expressed his wishes for the friendly Republic of Austria for continued progress, growth and stability.
His Highness also expressed his thanks to Carl Nehamer for Austria’s stance, which condemned the Houthi terrorist attacks on civilian facilities and sites in the UAE.
The two sides exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of common concern, foremost of which is the developments of the Ukraine crisis and its repercussions on security and peace in the world.. They stressed the need to find a peaceful settlement for it through dialogue, negotiation and diplomatic solutions.. They stressed the importance of providing humanitarian support to the affected civilians. and provide protection and assistance to them.
In this context, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed that the UAE, through its presidency of the UN Security Council during the month of March, is doing everything in its power to encourage peaceful solutions to the Ukrainian crisis, and to work and cooperate with the concerned parties to promote international peace.
During the meeting, His Highness noted the close relations between the UAE and the Republic of Austria and the great developments that these relations have witnessed during the past years.. He pointed out that the UAE is keen to push the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two friendly countries forward in various fields, especially economy, technology, energy, education and other fields. The areas that are consistent with the development priorities of the state during the coming decades and achieve the aspirations of the peoples of the two countries for development and prosperity.
For his part, Karl Nehamer, Chancellor of the friendly Republic of Austria, thanked His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the warm reception and hospitality, stressing Austria’s keenness to strengthen its relations with the UAE at all levels and cooperate with it in the field of supporting security and stability in the region and the world.
The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Advisor for Special Affairs at the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, and Maryam bint Mohammed Saeed Hareb Al Muhairi, Minister of Change Climate and Environment, Hamad Al Kaabi, UAE Ambassador to Austria, and the delegation accompanying the Austrian Chancellor.
During the meeting, the Austrian chancellor, Muhammad Abdullah Al-Junaibi, Chairman of the Federal Authority for Protocol and Strategic Narrative, was awarded the “Great Medal of Honor” in appreciation of the close and effective cooperation between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Austria in various fields, including the field of Special Olympics activities.
Al-Junaibi expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Austrian Chancellor for granting him this medal.. He pointed out that the distinguished relations between the two countries contributed to the success of many files of common interest, especially with regard to supporting people of determination, noting that he was part of the work team that made tireless efforts to make this file a success under the leadership of His Highness. Al Junaibi stressed the interest that His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan pays to people of determination, as they are an integral part of the components of society and his role in empowering them and enhancing their contributions and active participation in various social and sports fields.
