The lecture, which was presented by the researcher, writer and founding director of the University of Singularity, founder of the international company “X-Works”, Salim Ismail, and moderated by the Director of Laboratories Department at the “Future Guide” Foundation, Khalifa Al Qama, dealt with the secret of the success of rapidly growing institutions, especially their business environment, and how to take advantage of this Of experience .
Lecturer Salim Ismail began his speech by focusing on how to adapt to the technological changes that the world is experiencing at an unprecedentedly dramatic speed, noting that the main feature of technology is that it achieves abundance for humanity, by transforming rare things into abundant things, through innovations that allowed humans to easily obtain Things that were difficult to obtain or that required a long time and great effort to accomplish.
Ismail said: “Although many institutions worldwide have suffered, and some of them are still suffering from resistance to rapid technological change, the UAE was one of the first countries to create a suitable environment for training for rapid growth, which brought about a remarkable change in mentality that leads the country to A different path using technologies that move at speeds that double approximately every 9 months,” calling on the UAE to shift to the so-called “commercial technology.”
He added, “I am very proud of the UAE, which I see racing into the future and events, and I appreciate its leadership’s keenness on forward-looking planning and designing institutions for the future, which is a wonderful thing. The UAE’s technological experience in the government sector is different from its counterparts in the rest of the world.” Giant Emirati institutions such as “ADNOC” in the field of digitization.
The lecturer stressed that technology has significantly reduced prices in scientific sectors that drained huge budgets from countries and institutions, which contributed to the shift from the scarcity of demand for these sectors to abundance in dealing with them, as evidenced by saying: “The cost of launching a spaceship used to reach in the past. To 600 million dollars, and with technological progress, the SpaceX ship was launched at a cost of only 60 million dollars, which contributed to achieving abundance for many countries and institutions currently working in this sector, and we expect in the near future that the spaceship will be launched at a cost that will not exceed 6 million dollars Just”.
Ismail called on countries and major institutions to abandon the growing phenomenon of rejecting ideas in its infancy, and the necessity of accepting the idea and giving priority to discussing its details, instead of making it easy to reject it. And that less failure does not necessarily mean success, but it often reflects a lack of development.
