Los Angeles, California.- Julio César Urías Acosta, 28, stopped playing baseball in the MLB major leagues in September last year due to domestic violence in which he allegedly hit his partner during their visit to the bmo Stadium of the Los Angeles Soccer Club.
The Mexican pitcher attended, like other stars, the LG game against Miami CF in the new arrival of Lionel Andrés Chittini to the Major League Base Soccer
However, Julio Urías had a bad night because he was arrested for domestic violence. He was initially under arrest and paid 50,000 bail, but he would have to appear in court on September 28 of last year.
While he was under investigation, his former franchise, the Los Angeles Dodgers, began to remove the Culiacan from their roster, stopping selling his jerseys and other souvenirs as well as removing his things from his locker and erasing the baseball player’s image from one of the representative paintings they had in Los Angeles.
Even the fans began to repress Julio Acosta who did not press charges against him but the situation did not end because in the last hours the famous New York Times newspaper revealed the video where the Culiacan native is seen chasing his partner until he assaulted her in the vicinity of the Los Angeles Football Club soccer stadium.
Julio Urías was subdued by two people who supported his wife while the rest of the people watched the violent acts of the player until the appearance of the judicial officers who took him away under arrest, that on September 3, 2023.
Major League Baseball punished Julio Urías for the second time after a new domestic violence scandal. The first time happened in May 2019. MLB dropped the charges in July and suspended the Mexican for 20 games in August.
