The regional president, Fernando López Miras, assured this Friday that he is “delighted” to be able to go to the Congress of Deputies to explain “the good management” that his Government did during the coronavirus pandemic. The head of the regional Executive responded in this way to a question related to Sumar's proposal to summon the Murcian representative to testify in the mask commission, which will investigate the purchase of medical supplies in the lower house since 2020.
In this way, López Miras is open to explaining how it was achieved that the Community had the least impact during the coronavirus; how decisions were made before the Government of Spain and the rest of the autonomous communities made them, something that, in his opinion, caused the incidence and mortality rate to be lower. He is also willing to talk about how it was achieved that the Region did not lack beds or respirators during the pandemic.
“I think that not even this, which is very good, is going to cover up the corruption plot of the Socialist Party, Koldo and Minister Ábalos, even though they have not called him,” he said in reference to the absence of the name of the former secretary general of the PSOE in the proposal for summons presented by the Parliamentary Group of Pedro Sánchez.
MIras made these statements after speaking at the founding ceremony of the Southeast Alliance, which has been joined by the business confederations of the Region, the Valencian Community and Andalusia to demand the reform of regional financing, State solutions to the water deficit and infrastructure improvement.
PP and PSOE presented this Thursday their list of those summoned to the commission that will investigate in Congress the purchase of masks in times of coronavirus. This will be held in parallel to the 'Koldo case' Commission in the Senate. Although the news was on the popular and socialist lists, Sumar surprised by proposing that the president of the Region of Murcia, Fernando López Miras, be summoned.
