Itinerant office will help with the reconstruction of Rio Grande do Sul’s agriculture after floods; sector is one of the most affected by the rains
The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock will set up this Monday (May 27, 2024) an itinerant office in the municipality of Santa Cruz do Sul, in the State of Rio Grande do Sul. According to the federal government, the measure was intended to help in the meeting demands for the reconstruction of agriculture in Rio Grande do Sul.
The cabinet inauguration ceremony is scheduled for 11 am, at Oktoberfest Park. It will be attended by the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Carlos Fávaro.
Agricultural machinery will also be delivered to regions affected by the floods. Second statement from the ministry, 31 municipalities will benefit.
“The equipment, such as backhoes, motor graders and hydraulic excavators, were acquired through amendments from the federal bench of Rio Grande do Sul”, he informed, adding that state senators and deputies must attend the event.
According to the CNM (National Confederation of Municipalities), agriculture is the private sector most affected by the rains in the State. You losses total R$2.7 billion. Livestock farming suffered losses of R$245.4 million.
