Medical problems seem to take their toll on Millionaires. To the three players who lost due to injury on Wednesday, when they drew 1-1 against Bolívar in El Campín in the Copa Libertadores, two new last-minute casualties are now added.
The team led by Alberto Gamero will play this Saturday against Deportivo Pereira on the second date of the League’s semi-final home runs, in a game that they must win if they want to continue fighting for the first star of 2024.
In the match against the Bolivians, attacker Leonardo Castro, full-back Sander Navarro and midfielder Stiven Vega were injured. These losses join those of names like Daniel Cataño, Ómar Bertel and Jáder Valencia, who have been off the roster for several games.
Daniel Ruiz and Émerson Rodríguez, ruled out for the match against Pereira
Now, journalist Cristian Pinzón confirmed that Millonarios lost midfielder Daniel Ruiz for the match against Deportivo Pereira, who will be out due to a virus.
For that same reason, central defender Andrés Llinás had missed the game on the first day of the home runs, which Millonarios lost 2-1 against Junior in Barranquilla.
Rodríguez, for his part, has 12 appearances in the League this semester, with three goals scored and one assist. In the Libertadores he has four games, with one goal assist.
The game against Deportivo Pereira will be this Saturday, at the El Campín stadium, starting at 7:30 at night. It will be broadcast on Win Sports +.
After this game, Millonarios will play against Palestino, also in Bogotá, in one of their last options to remain in competition in Conmebol tournaments. That game will be on Tuesday at 9 pm and will be seen on ESPN and Star+.
