The news of Jack Miller’s positivity to COVID-19 had hinted at it, but now it is certain: Ducati has postponed the presentation of the official MotoGP 2022 team, taking it from January 28 to February 7, therefore after the conclusion of the first pre-test -seasonal in Sepang.
The Australian rider announced through his social channels that he tested positive and did not have any symptoms. The problem, if anything, is that Miller is home and is therefore stuck there until he negativises himself. Which he had already made him reveal in his short video that he would not arrive in Europe in time for the presentation of the team.
Obviously, the men of the Red team immediately ran for cover, postponing the event by about ten days, which in any case will be exclusively virtual, to allow Jack to heal and be able to attend.
Now, therefore, the target shifts to Miller, who will have to take care above all to be enlisted for the Sepang tests, which will take place on 5 and 6 February, even if for him there seems to be all the time necessary to obtain a negative test and leave for vault of Malaysia.
Also because, being asymptomatic, in the meantime he is carrying out physical preparation work in view of the 2022 season. And he certainly won’t want to miss the opportunity to discover the Desmosedici GP22 as soon as possible, given that this winter there will be only five days of tests available to the starting drivers, with the unknown that three of these will be on the new track of Mandalika, in Indonesia, therefore without too many references.
What is certain now is that the days between 4 and 8 February will be particularly hectic for the world of MotoGP, because in addition to the two days of testing in Malaysia there will be condensed presentations of the official Yamaha and Suzuki teams (both February 4), Ducati (February 7) and Honda (February 8).
