Michelin has always been a point of reference when it comes to tires reserved for the Sport Touring category. To continue to have this privileged position, the French company launched this year the Michelin Road 6 range, which in addition to being designed for naked, maxi road enduro and sport touring bikes, has broadened the horizons to grand touring bikes. with the Road 6 GT tire.
This is a range of tires designed to ensure great grip in the wet, combined with the mileage, comfort and handling that have always been trademarks of the Clermont Ferrand-based company.
The technical evolution compared to the Road 5 series, which was introduced in 2018, was really important: there is talk of a 15% improvement in wet grip and 10% in terms of tire life. Improvements that have been possible thanks to a new design and an optimization of the architecture carried out within the Michelin Research and Development centers, but also to the progress related to raw materials.

First of all, the full-to-empty ratio has been optimized, which is the one between grooves and rubber, with a value of 14% which remains unchanged both in straight lines and in corners, thus maintaining the same feeling for the driver, who can take advantage of a high grip in all weather conditions.
Another fundamental aspect is the Michelin Water EverGrip technology: these are sipes designed to offer high grip even in the wet. This patented design changes with tire wear, opening precisely in order to always maintain a high grip.
Furthermore, new grooves have been created, as well as the inclinations of the sipes have been modified, in order to allow the tire to cut the water film and adhere to the road surface in the best possible way.

A 100% silica compound combined with Michelin Silica technology guarantees excellent grip even at low temperatures and on wet surfaces. A solution that does not require any compromise regarding the life cycle of the tire.
Michelin 2CT + technology – which stands for 2 Compound Technology – optimizes the performance of the different parts of the tread. In the lower layer there is a harder compound, which causes the rubber to maintain its stiffness when taking corners. On the upper layer, the one in contact with the asphalt, there is instead a softer compound, which is to always have an excellent grip on both dry and wet surfaces, while also guaranteeing high mileage.

The Radial X Evo Technology allows you to have a large footprint on the ground and this is also one of the aspects that guarantee great grip both in straight lines and in curves. The sidewalls of this new generation of tires then have a design designed to offer flexibility and comfort. The combined effect of this technology is a manageable and responsive tire, also suitable for motorcycles with high power, which allows you to have fun in safety.
Thanks to Aramid Shield Technology, the carcass has a high density and is more rigid, giving excellent feedback to the driver. In addition, the aramid fabric guarantees excellent stability, although the weight has also been reduced.
Then there is another gem that we cannot fail to mention, namely the Michelin Premium Touch Design. It is a technology that creates a contrast thanks to the absorption of light through a micro-geometry on the sidewalls of the tire which gives an elegant and attractive appearance to the tire, which matches the look of the bike very well.
