The Mexico City has once again experienced extreme temperatures, reaching a new historical record at the Tacubaya Meteorological Observatory.
This Monday June 3the country’s capital recorded a peak of 33.8 degrees Celsiusmarking a new milestone for this date.
According to data from the National Meteorological Service (SMN), This value exceeds the previous record of 31.1 degrees Celsius established in 2005.
The heat wave not only affected Tacubaya. At the Mexico City International Airport (AICM), the temperature also skyrocketed, reaching 32.0 degrees Celsius.
This situation places the temperatures recorded this Monday as the highest for June 3 in the history of the city.
The SMN has warned about the persistence of these high temperatures in the region. Residents of CDMX are facing an unprecedented hot season, with few signs of relief in the short term.
Despite the urgent need for rain to mitigate the heat and improve air quality, forecasts do not predict significant precipitation in the coming days.
