Metroid Dread ever so good since 2000.
Through the analyst David Gibson who shared data from Famitsu we get interesting information that can give a lot to talk about: these days Metroid Dread sold approx 87,000 copies in physical format in Japan. It is a successful debut that triples the sales achieved by Metroid: Samus Returns on Nintendo 3DS at the time.
As always this figure does not include sales in digital format since as Gibson reports the numbers are focused only on physical sales, so it is reasonable to think that the game has sold a lot more.
“Metroid Dread sold 87,000 physical copies, surpassing Metroid Samus Returns (3DS) in September 2017, which sold 29,000. The best start for the Metroid series since 2000, digital sales excluded“reads through Gibson’s Twitter account. The ResetEra thread shares an image showing Japanese sales figures for the various Metroids in comparison, which you can view below.
Metroid Dread sold 87k physical copies, exceeding Metroid Samus Returns (3DS) in Sept 2017 which sold 29k. Best start for Metroid series since 2000. Digital sales not included. (2/3)
