Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will not include the “a Hideo Kojima game” tag at the beginning. The remake’s producer explained the reasoning behind this choice.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater It’s certainly not an easy product to make. As a remake of a beloved classic, the team has a duty to respect the original workbut at the same time give value to the new product with a series of innovations, first of all graphic ones.
Speaking of the legacy of the original game, the Producer Noriaki Okamura had his say during the second episode of the “Metal Gear Production Hotline” series.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Producer Explains
Okamura said the team still prefers to be “almost too loyal” and keep the original design of Snake Eater. An easy example is the fact that in the original there are areas separated by loading screens, Okamura says that “that’s exactly how the game was designed. The pacing and flow of the game comes from that.” He continues: “If we had done something to change that general design, the game would have changed completely.”
The same logic applies to the credits, where the team decided to include the original developers, with one notable exception. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will not open with the words “a game by Hideo Kojima” but with “based on Metal Gear Solid 3”.
It may seem strange at first, but as Okamura points out, “games that Mr. Kojima did not personally direct have no never had the label ‘a Hideo Kojima game'”. Okamura continues: “So for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, we decided it made sense to follow this precedent.”
The idea then is that excluding his name is a form of respect and stylistic coherence. We also recall that we recently saw a video with some gameplay of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.
