To expand interactivity in video calls, particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic, Facebook created augmented reality modes in its Messenger chat app. The feature is now available for multi-party calls.
Before the filters were individual, but with the update, it is possible to add equal masks and frames for everyone. In addition, the app will have templates created precisely to be used in groups, which have exclusive ways of interaction for conversations with more than two people.

Another resource for group conversations is games. Among the options are versions in which your group can build a virtual burger, and characters such as a virtual cat that can “take the call”. In total, more than 70 group effects will be added to the service. This is expected to be expanded over time.
Recently, Facebook also announced the addition of end-to-end encryption to improve security when using Messenger voice and video calls. According to the company, the initiative to reinforce security policies for these calls came about with the increase in demand for the service.
