Following an intriguing first official trailer, “merlin” is shortly after its premiere in Netflix. Although this new television series, created by Tim Burton, will introduce us to an updated version of the iconic Addams family, the plot will be mainly focused on Wednesday. The character will be played this time by Jenna Ortega, whom we recently saw in “Scream 5″.

“Wednesday is technically a Latin character, and has never been represented like this. So, for me, every time I have the opportunity to represent my community, I want that to be seen,” Ortega commented in a new preview of the program.

Directed by Tim Burton, “Merlina” will bring us closer to Wednesday Addams in his days at the Nevermore Academy. With overtones of supernatural mystery, the plot will see her protagonist trying to stop a wave of murders that haunts the town, while solving a mystery that involved her parents 25 years ago.
