And the technical news site “Mashable” said that the new Mercedes has proven its ability to travel a distance of 1,000 kilometers, by supplying electric power only once.
The car (EQXX) traveled from the city of Sindelfingen in southwestern Germany to the French city of Cassis on the Mediterranean, with one electric charge, and the distance between the two cities is equivalent to a thousand kilometers.
The flight took place at normal permitted speeds, including 140 kilometers per hour, and under variable weather conditions, including rain.
At the end of the trip, about 15 percent of the car’s battery remained, meaning that it could also travel an additional 140 km.
Our “successful trip” to the south of France shows that efficiency is a new currency in the electric vehicle market, said Marcus Schaefer, who is responsible for development and procurement at Mercedes.
Schaefer added that this success demonstrates the company’s development process, including lessons learned from the Mercedes Formula 1 racing team, and the latest in electric mobility.
In January, the German automaker announced the EQXX Vision, a futuristic concept that includes a focus on aerodynamics and battery efficiency.
The solar panels installed on the car can increase the distance covered by an additional 24 km.
