Medical unions convene new concentrations against the framework statute of Mónica García

Medical unions will continue to carry out protest actions against the framework project – the norm that regulates the working conditions of health personnel – that the Ministry of Health negotiates with trade union organizations. The State Confederation of Medical Unions (CESM) and the Andalusian Medical Union, united against the project, have announced new concentrations in the cities throughout Spain for the next 5 and 12 March that will take place between 11.00 and 11.30.

These concentrations will precede the demonstration that on March 22 will take place in Madrid between 12 and 14 hours. Doctors from all over Spain are called to participate in the march, which will begin their tour in the Congress of Deputies and will end in the Ministry of Health. In it, professionals will cry out against the framework project prepared by the department of Mónica García and advocate for having their own that collects their peculiarities.

The Medical Unions of Autonomies and Provinces will be responsible for defining where the concentrations of the next 5 and 12 days will take , as happened in which they were convened on February 10.

The motto of concentrations will be: “By a statute of the medical and optional profession.” This is the great claim that doctors manifest since the draft of the norm in which healing works, because they feel that in the negotiation is not watching over their working conditions. The obligation of the guards, their remuneration, the hours of day, the professional classification or the exclusive regime that arises in the text are some of the red lines that the doctors do not share.

Therefore, they believe it would be necessary to collect the peculiarities of their profession in a specific framework statute for doctors. However, this proposal has been rejected by the Ministry of Health, which advocates to collect in a single law the working conditions of all personnel working in health centers.
