The improvised meeting has occurred when a group of affected protested at the doors of the regional government headquarters
Almost five months after the Catastrophic Dana of October 29, the president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Carlos Mazón, has received for the first time – who knows – to a group of four affected by the floods, two of them from the town of Catarroja.
The improvised meeting, which did not appear on the official agenda of the head of the regional executive, has occurred around noon, when these people – two widows and a son who lost his mother in the ravine – protested at the gates of the Palau de la Generalitat with a banner with the motto: ‘You did nothing’.
Following the protest, they have accessed the headquarters of the regional government, just the day in which the Consell Plenary has been held to approve the draft of the autonomous budgets of 2025. Mazón has always defended that it was in permanent contact with the victims for everything they could need.
“He has asked us for forgiveness and has behaved like a man upon receiving us,” said one of those affected, Juan José Monrabal, on his departure from Palau. «He has committed to us to receive all the relatives of the victims here. I committed to him to call people, to bring them five in five, “he said, on a meeting that” arrives late, but better late than ever. “
According to Monrabal, the president was “affected”: “He has told us that the alert was late” and that “our phone numbers did not know.” “Today I have seen that he has a little heart,” he added. This affected of Catarroja, who had already “many days” to go to the doors of the Palau has stressed that “the only thing” that wants “is the truth.”
«My mother, with 84 years, does not understand phones. At 8:15 p.m. I was already dead. At 6:15 p.m. I called him three times and said that the street was dry, that there was no water, ”he lamented.
