Carlos Mazón’s Executive has awarded the repair of a dam seriously damaged by DANA to a businessman convicted in the Gürtel case who confessed to financing ‘box B’ of the Valencian PP. This is an emergency contract of 3.9 million euros, through a negotiated procedure without publicity, awarded to the company Becsa SA by the Department of Agriculture, Water, Livestock and Fisheries directed by the popular Miguel Barrachina.
It is not the only emergency contract that Becsa has obtained. The Minister of Environment, Infrastructure and Territory, Vicente Martínez Mus, has also awarded the company the works on the Cheste section of the CV-50 highway, as elDiario.es has learned from sources in the regional department. However, the amount of the award is unknown as it has not yet been published on the Contracting Platform. The regional administration has one month to make the contract public. Becsa has also been awarded provincial road repair contracts after the disaster by the Provincial Council of Valencia, specifically for the demarcation of Bétera and Serra, for a total amount of 1.5 million euros.
