Mazón announces an Emergency Department and a vice presidency to coordinate the reconstruction after DANA

The president of the Generalitat Valenciana announces changes in the composition of his Executive to stop the political crisis unleashed by his management of DANA. In the third hour of his appearance in the Valencian Courts, Carlos Mazón has outlined the first changes in the Consell that he presides, without specifying when they will be made or who they affect.

The Valencian president announced this Friday a “new Consell for recovery” with “a dynamic, modern and efficient structure.” It will be a Council that will have “a new vice presidency for economic and social recovery. It will be the heart of our strategy,” highlighted Mazón, who detailed that he will manage the European funds and the “boost of employment.” This department will coordinate all existing ones.

Mazón has also announced that “there will be a new Department of Emergencies and the Interior”, exclusively for the security of citizens, coordinating “prevention” action in the event of any threat. Currently, Minister Salomé Pradas holds responsibilities for both Interior and Emergencies and Justice. The president has not mentioned it in his entire speech. She is the most notable person responsible for her management. The Valencian president also assures that “he will work with all administrations” and defends that “it is necessary to build a culture of emergency”, despite having eliminated organizations in this regard.

On the guest bench you can see the former president of the Generalitat Alberto Fabra and the former councilor and current senator Gerardo Camps during the appearance. Camps is one of the names that is being talked about to enter the Consell at the proposal of the national leadership of the PP. Mazón wants a crisis and restructuring of the Government to stop criticism.
