Mexico City.- The new president of Morena, Luisa María Alcalde, said that her mission will be to work on an eight-point internal action plan and apply a decalogue to local authorities.
The main thing, he said, will be to create 70,751 sectional committees throughout the country, because, he said, we must not forget that Morena’s strength is in its bases.
According to the now former Secretary of Organization, Alejandro Peña, 153 thousand committees of the 4T were created informally, but now the mission will be to make them official and consolidate them. The second point, said Alcalde, is the opening to the affiliation and credentialing of all militancy. Currently, the party made an express affiliation in 2022, from which 3 thousand members emerged in two days.
“Three, a very important point, strengthening the participation of the militants in decision-making,” he said in his first speech as a national leader.
These three tasks will be carried out by Andrés Manuel López Beltrán, son of President López Obrador, as the new Secretary of Organization. Alcalde set himself the challenge of disseminating, discussing and signing two key documents: the 100 postulates of a Morena member and the Decalogue for Morena governments. “Five, strengthen brotherhood, camaraderie and institutionality in the party. Six, maintain unity, humility and honesty among all and forever. “Seven, keep the National Institute of Political Training strong and solid. Eight, strengthen the election commission and ensure that the survey commission carries out the selection of all candidates with transparency and methodological rigor,” he added. He clarified that “The 100 postulates of a Morena member” and its catalog of ideas will allow them to identify and conduct themselves as true Morena militants. He warned that they now have greater political power throughout the country, from the Presidency, a majority in Congress and in the states, but they must concentrate on how to maintain and expand it. “Now, comrades, this vertiginous growth also brings with it risks that we must warn about. How do we remain loyal to our principles? How do we not distance ourselves from the people or lose our mystique or fall prey to pride? How do we take advantage of our diversity to build unity and not sectarianism? How do we ensure that our governments know what it means in the deepest sense to be part of Morena?” he said. “The answer is in a tree that impresses because of its height and strength. For some, Morena is like a large, imposing tree that grew quickly and protects with its shade. Indestructible, but the essence of Morena is not in its height, nor in its wide branches, nor in the sweetness of its fruits, nor in the beauty of its flowers. It is in what cannot be seen. The essence of Morena is in its roots, in the sacred union with the people,” he added.
