Máximo Martínez Quiles (Murcia, 2008) will debut this weekend in Austin with the colors of the Aspar Team cfmoto. The talent of the Murcian is so great that the team led by Jorge Martínez ‘Aspar’ decided to sign him even if he could not play the first two races, in Thailand and Argentina (he replaced the Austrian Jakob Rosenthaler). “This season will be learning because there are still many circuits that you do not know, but we are sure that it will soon fight for great objectives,” warns the Valencian expilot.
Quiles not only caught Aspar’s attention. From the age of nine he began to accumulate national and international trophies on the shelves of his room. “The fondness for motorcycles has always been at home, so everything has followed a natural evolution,” says the parent, which a few months after getting on a motorcycle decided to register it at the Chicho Lorenzo school.
Anyway, in its path of roses, Máximo has also stumbled with peliagudas thorns. In 2016 he suffered a fall that caused him a clavicle break that had several races on him, last year he suffered a serious accident in Misano that left him without knowledge and was subsequently punished with a hard sanction for making a dangerous maneuver in Mugello that ended another pilot on the ground.
«It will be a very important stage for me, since I will debut in the World Cup. I am incredible to get on the motorcycle. The goal will be clearly learning a lot, since they will be new circuits around the world. I also want to get good results and enjoy, ”says Quiles.
Those who know him define him as outgoing, affectionate, homemade and sensitive, although on the track he becomes brain, calculator and aggressive when he has to be. Like Márquez. “I have a lot of relationship with him and helps me a lot,” reveals the Murcia, who also has a good relationship with Acosta or Aldeguer. «My friends are freaking out that I will run on Moto3.
