According to Variety, Marvel and Disney Plus are planning to release a new series dedicated to Vision, played by Paul Bettany. This spin-off would be scheduled for 2026. The showrunner would be Terry Matalas, of Star Trek: Picard.
I will deal with the second spin-off series of WandaVision. The first is Agatha All Along, starring Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness, coming to Disney Plus in September.
While some reports had claimed otherwise, Agatha’s series will premiere below the regular Marvel Television labelrather than under the newly formed Marvel Spotlight.
The latter is designed to present independent projects that do not necessarily follow the plots of the MCU, while still fitting into the same universe. Echo, Daredevil: Born Again and Wonder Man are the only shows that have been presented under this label so far.
What to know about Vision from the MCU (SPOILERS)
If you’re a little rusty on the state of the MCU and want a quick refresher on what happened to Vision, read on. Obviously the following is absolutely spoilers.
Vision died in Infinity War and has been brought back to life twice: first through the magic of his partner Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlett Witch, and second as a new version who has no colors and has no memory of Wanda or her past.
In the finale of the WandaVision series, the two Visions clash, culminating in Wanda restoring the new Vision’s memories and allowing the magical Vision to disintegrate. The new series will take place after the events of the finale.
Wanda Maximoff instead met her end in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, when she tried to gain the ability to travel between universes and regain the children she had created with magic in Wandavision.
