Marquez ‘shortens’ on Martin
Eliminated in Q1, but once again second at the end of the Sprint. Marc Marquez in Barcelona he achieved a podium that seemed impossible, but the massacre of falls in the 12 laps of the race in Barcelona favored the comeback of the eight-time world champion.
In what was something of a curse for the race leader, Raul Fernandez, Brad Binder and Francesco Bagnaia crashed while leading. Marquez started well and despite losing a wing at the first due to a contact he gradually recovered until the second position final by beating Pedro Acosta in the fight behind Aleix Esparagarò.
The Ducati Gresini rider commented on today’s second place in the Sprint as follows: “I have to say that this morning we made a major change to the bike and I felt more comfortable, but I certainly didn’t expect this comeback. In France I knew I had a great pace, here I found myself there and took advantage of the opportunity. It was a great race, but tomorrow the temperatures will be even higher and the Ducatis suffer a little more in these conditions. We will try”.
