Marc Marquez, rider of the Pramac team and third in the championship, participated in the press conference on Thursday of the Catalan Grand Prix in Barcelona, the sixth stage of the 2024 MotoGP world calendar. Discussions about his future are inevitable, with the Pramac hypothesis appearing to gain ground in recent days. Below are his statements.
Expectations for Barcelona
“I’m lacking consistency of the others, they are fast in all free practice and qualifying. I’m fast and I feel strong and competitive, but we need to find consistency. This will be the challenge at Montmelò, for me it is one of the most complicated tracks. The GP24 is better in slow corners and I will try to find something to fight with them. Barcelona has never been good for me, but I have also often been among the fastest. One of my strengths are stop and go and here there is more mileage, I have to understand and modify something in the setup or driving style.”
The official Ducati in 2025
“My situation has changed a bit compared to last year. I wanted to have fun and find my form and little by little I’m getting back to my level. But winning the world championship is easier with an official bike. I know Ducati is looking for the best solution, I think I know well what I want and what I need to be fast. By doing a good job on the track, I will be able to have some more options. I want to continue to be close to Bagnaia and Martin, who fought for the championship and are the two strongest rivals. I will try to get the most out of the material I have.
At the moment the European manufacturers are strong, for me Ducati is the best on all tracks. For this reason I chose them. Aprilia and KTM are getting closer and closer.
The many questions? It’s part of the show, We both like it and you like it.”
The pilots market
“It’s difficult for the teams, because in recent years a lot has depended on the bike and the times are close. It’s not difficult to get to MotoGP, but to maintain the level. Aleix stopped by choice, sometimes you can’t choose.
