Marko praises Perez: “He didn't push, he was controlling Sainz”

The one obtained at Bahrain Grand Prix 2024 and the double number 29 home Red Bullwith a good Sergio Perez who recovered from fifth starting position to second under the checkered flag. Helmut Marko expressed his satisfaction with Max Verstappen's victory and the result obtained at Sky Deutschland.

“We weren't very sure after qualifying, but we found our strengths in the set-up. Max then took off, it was a very pleasant start, but a little unexpected”admitted the former Austrian driver.

Praise to Perez

Sergio Perez finished in second place – 22 seconds behind Verstappen and 2.7 seconds ahead of Sainz – and received compliments from Marko: “It wouldn't have made sense for him to push harder. He had third place under control and he had no chance of winning. He absolutely had a tactically impeccable race, without ever pushing. Or better: it could have gone faster, but there was no reason to do so.”
Now head to Saudi Arabia: “Jeddah is something completely different from Sakhir, much faster. But the basis of our car is really good.”
