Beginning of 2024 super
The start of the season Yuki Tsunoda it certainly hasn't gone unnoticed within the Red Bull family. Japanese is finally finding an iimportant continuity of performance and in these first races of 2024 he has always beaten his most popular teammate Daniel Ricciardo. Tsunoda scored in the points both in Melbourne and at his home round and is single-handedly dragging the Racing Bulls to sixth place in the Constructors' standings.
Compliments from Marko
Suzuka's exploit was also noticed by Helmut Marko, who in the past had not been at all kind to the Japanese #22 and who in general is never too generous with compliments towards his drivers. This time, however, the Graz manager recognized the many merits of the class of 2000: “On the occasion of the second start, Yuki performed very well – Marko told Speed Week magazine, also owned by the Red Bull group – his overtaking maneuvers were the show of the day. The fans were over the moon. His weekend was at the level of Max, Alonso and others: flawless. A great performance despite being under pressure for the home match“.
Perez 'defends' the place
Tsunoda's dream, like that of all the drivers who in the past found themselves driving for Red Bull's 'second team', is to one day land in the Milton Keynes team. Marko, however, hinted that if Sergio Perez were to continue driving so well it would be difficult to deny him a contract renewal at least for next year: “Checo was also very solid – concluded Marko – he was unlucky at the pit stop, but got back into the game with a great maneuver against Hamilton in the 130R. He is definitely having his best season with us so far“.
