Marçal is barred from Bolsonaro’s trio; Malafaia claims he arrived at the end: ‘clown’

Pablo Marçal (PRTB), former coach and candidate for Mayor of São Paulo, was stopped when he tried to get on Jair Bolsonaro’s (PL) float after the end of the pro-Bolsonaro demonstration this Saturday, the 7th, on Avenida Paulista. The organizer of the event, pastor Silas Malafaia, said that Marçal only arrived after the end and avoided participating before for fear of STF minister Alexandre de Moraes, the main target of attacks during the event. StateMalafaia called Marçal a “sucker” and said that the former coach tried to “seal the deal” with the episode.

“This clown thinks we are idiots. He arrived at the end, with the act already over, and wanted to get on the float. No. It’s over, he won’t get on. So much so that the girl from Novo [Marina Helena] went up, the mayor [Ricardo Nunes] went up. Do you know what he wants? To make cuts to his campaign,” said Malafaia. “The guy is like a madman, wanting to seal the deal in every way, he wants to play the victim, he wasn’t stopped at all. The event had already ended. He didn’t go before because he’s afraid of Alexandre de Moraes, he’s a wimp,” said the pastor to State.

Marçal issued a press release stating that he was surprised by the fact that access to the truck was blocked. “This was just another failed maneuver by the desperate people who tried to silence me, but were silenced by the massive and warm support of the people,” he stated, through his press office.

The influencer landed by helicopter near Avenida Paulista, walked through the crowd, signed autographs for supporters and produced content for his social media. Then, when the event was over, he tried to get on the float, but was stopped.

Marçal was traveling to El Salvador and kept his participation in the September 7 demonstration under wraps. Allies feared that getting involved in a demonstration calling for the impeachment of Alexandre de Moraes could cause unnecessary damage to the candidate, who, along with the PRTB, is facing legal challenges. Recently, in an interview with UOL and Folha de S.Paulo, the former coach stated that a confrontation with the STF would “destroy” his candidacy.

At the beginning of his speech, Bolsonaro was irritated by the noise of another float on the avenue, believing, according to allies, that it belonged to Pablo Marçal. He said: “If this crook wants to hold an event, announce it, call the people and do it.” Bolsonaro also called the act “scumbag” and “bum” and asked him to “do politics somewhere else.” However, the float in question did not belong to the PRTB candidate.
